CWRU Motorsports finishes 2017 Season with a Bang

The CWRU Motorsports team traveled to Kansas in May for our second and final competition of the year. Model E continued to turn heads by finishing 6th in maneuverability, 11th in acceleration and 14th in suspension. The team rounded out the dynamic events with a 48th place finish in sled pull. Around noon on the third day of competition a severe thunderstorm rolled in and shut the competition down for the remainder of the day. Torrential rain flooded the endurance course for the next day. That evening, all the teams prepared themselves the best they could for the mud-bath that would follow. However, a little bit of mud was not nearly enough to slow Model E down. Tyler Eston and backup driver Mantas Naris combined to complete an impressive 35 laps of the track which was good for an 8th place finish in the endurance race. After every team's scores were calculated from the weekend, CWRU Motorsports claimed 8th place overall! This marked the second ever top-ten finish in the team's history. Kansas surpasses California as the new best-ever overall finish. The team is extremely proud of its accomplishments for the year and we are looking forward to reaching even greater heights in 2018
